Copy Values

Posted November 13, 2007 by David.Pechacek in Attributes.Downloaded 1856 times.

This tool is used to copy values from an object to other objects. This was written to mimic the ability users have in Excel to copy values from one cell to others. Only attributes that the user has access to modify are shown in the attributes list.

- Select the attributes that contain the values you wish to copy.
- Select the object that contains the values you wish to copy.
- Select the object that is the start of the block of objects you wish to copy the values to.
- Select the object that is the end of the block of objects you wish to copy values to.

Provided is the .inc file. If you wish to drop it into your addins\user directory, change the extension to .dxl. Otherwise, create a DXL file that includes it.

Convert Tables to OLE (Word Macro)

Posted November 5, 2007 by Kevin in VBA - Macros.Downloaded 2323 times.

To use this file, you must go into MS Word's Visual Basic Editor (Alt+F11, or Tools>Macros>Edit Macros) and import this .bas file into your default template.

This macro should be run on a document before importing it into DOORS.
It converts each table to an OLE object, and thus when you export it to
DOORS, the Tables will be OLE objects and NOT be converted to DOORS tables.

For users, makes saving views easy by limiting options.
For database managers, gives a little more control, but options are still limited.

For admins, this means less time managing views, as option set is limited and access
rights don't have to be thought about too much.

Also, a standard prefix is set, so users who don't follow the standard don't have to worry about it.

See help for details.

For everyone, this makes life easier.

This has been tested on DOORS 8.2, but should work with DOORS 7 and up.
